CFO Forum
NOSS – Hospital Services established the CFO Forum to assist CFO’s with the identification and review of various contemporary topics relative to healthcare finance and operations. Additionally, NOSS - Hospital Services assists participating NOSS CFO Members with identifying cost effective, cost recovery and cost saving programs and services to aid them in managing their hospital operating and capital budgets. At the suggestion of the members, and the research of the NOSS – Hospital
Services Staff, products and services are presented for review. Interest and the potential for member benefit and opportunity are evaluated, and then program costs are “negotiated” to secure the best possible rate.
Revenue Cycle Forum
The Revenue Cycle Forum was created by the CFO Forum to assist the participating NOSS – Hospital Services members with all aspects of revenue cycle management and all personnel are encouraged to attend these meetings. The agenda for these educational sessions are established through the CFO Forum. A chair has been identified to facilitate the every other month meetings. Topics of discussions include the following: pre-admission process, registration & admitting process, charge capture
and reporting, utilization management, RAC audits, cash management, contracts, receivables management & collections and coding/billing.
Compliance Officers Forum
NOSS – Hospital Services Compliance Officers Forum was created to assist the participating NOSS members with their individual hospital’s Compliance Programs. Compliance-related issues as mandated under the Federal regulations are reviewed at each meeting. The forum meets monthly and is guided under the legal advisement of expert healthcare attorneys, as well as, the expertise of the members themselves. While a formal agenda sets the stage for each of the meetings on specific, current,
compliance-related topics, the sharing of common problems and issues through roundtable discussions results in important education and appropriate solutions as well.
Information Technology (IT) Forum
The IT forum evolved from the HIPAA IT Security Forum and under the facilitation of an IT consultant meets monthly to discuss numerous IT hospital initiatives and issues. Some areas of focus are disaster recovery, high availability, IT strategic planning, security, electronic health records (EHR), vendor fairs, IT best practices, IT budgeting, standards, policies & procedures, etc. The roundtable discussions provide valuable information and solutions specific to IT hospital issues.
